Having a Part-Time girlfriend
We've been spending a LOT of time together, and i guess we're pretty inseparable. But all for good reason. Come Monday, Kirstin starts work again, and i start on my SMU research work. She'll work from 3pm to 1 or 2am pretty much 6 days a week, and I work from 10am to whatever time. So we'll see considerably less of each other come Monday. But we agreed we'd make time for each other; we'll take turns to meet each other for supper, or breakfast before work. So it won't be so bad for this next month. :)
It'll be even worse in April though. I looked up the timings for her Harry's branch, and boy are the timings just as shit as her previous stint. Money is better though, but that's not the point. on weekends and PH eve, they open till 2am. otherwise, 1 am. So much for appealing for better, more reasonable timings.
I start RP work again in April, 4 times a week, 8am to 4pm. So that eliminates breakfast and lunch meet ups for the two of us. And I can't possibly see how going to her pub and hanging out there by myself with the occasionally chit chat in between would qualify as "quality time". I will effectively only see her once a week, on her off day, and even then I would have to fight with her family and friends for her time. It's fucking shit, that's what it is. Worse than army: at least when guys book out we get TWO days to spend with our loved ones, and even then we won't really have to fight with anyone else for her attention cos she has the rest of the week to enjoy their company.
I really don't know how we're going to deal with it if that's the case. Hopefully by the time April comes, or if she finds out that managers work on a slightly more flexible time schedule, things will work out. Otherwise, I foresee a lot of frustration and a shitty rest of the year.
