Oh look it's me at my laptop in San Francisco....

...see??

Finally got to making 2 proper fellow hostelliers, Kazue and Jeff. Tomorrow we're going to the museum, having coffee at Seattle Coffee (again), then accompanying Kazue to a shelter that's giving away a free thanksgiving dinner for the homeless. She's doing research on homeless people, and she wanted to go do it alone (cos she didn't have anyone who was around to accompany her). SIAO LA! Even when i walk down Ellis street (the street i'm staying on) where there are a million and one hobos, I get chills down my spine (although they really are quite harmless). So jeff and I will take her there, then go for a nice jap dinner (cos Kazue is Japanese, and Jeff is a sushi chef). Makes me wonder about my own anxieties and reservations when i go into the field for research... wonder if everyone feels the same, or is it just me?

.... the flight here was interesting. All i have to say is i used to think the flight to Seoul was long. Now I think its as short as flying to KL... KNN! So bloody far lah SF! Had SO many Indians on the flight i thought i was going to Bombay or something. Played what colour what colour? on board by myself... pink blue green red... one guy even tried (and almost succeeded) putting the headphones OVER his turban hahahah was quite a funny sight. Figured laughin loudly to myself was... not a good thing.

Ok, the americans i met were nice. The waitresses were polite and my room service girl was super helpful. They give you one HUGE pot of coffee for breakie so you don't have to keep asking (although it's probably more because they don't wanna keep comin back). The room service girl actually called to find out if i finally figured out how to use the darn coffee pot and offered instructions when i said i didn't. The bouncer at the bar checked my ID. Then he took a photo of my quirky t shirt for his website. Beer is CHEAP. What more can i ask for?

Presentation went well... i think i was too cheem for most of them. One senior lady asked me why i used so many jargons and i said i'm a sociologist and she went AH! now i see... hahahhaha. Sometimes i wish singapore sociology would just give up trying to sound cheem and actually contribute to knowledge more without the baggage shit...
heh well at least it was an interesting presentation although i was quite intimidated by this indian lady who came just to listent to my presentation. Eeks! She gave me good comments lah.

Met up with Eujin and his malaysian friends here who were damn swell. But alas had to bid adieu to them all tonight... hopefully can see them again this thanksgiving thursday. Otherwise, i'm totally on my own now. we'll see how that goes. I travel badly without company.

Tried asking someone i know how she was and what she was doing with her life, cos i was genuinely interested. And i got THAT as a response. Sure, I asked like twice, so it sounded repetitive, pesky, but i asked twice because she didn't give me an answer. Maybe i didn't get the hint that she didn't wanna tell me, so my bad. But i still think i deserved some kind of reciprocity for the interest i was showing in her life. Then again, i suppose it's too much to expect anything when you do something out of good intention, cos you just gotta put yourself out there, expose yourself to ridicule ironically for the sake of others. Well, my self-worth doesn't depend on you. Read my finger.

Gunners shoot down Reds

Arsenal moved up to third place in the Premiership on Sunday afternoon after trashing Liverpool 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Unlikely heroes? Flamini (above), Toure, and Gallas... Need I say more? *beams*

a face in the crowd

Entered this photo in TheEveryman photo competition for amateurs.. well it's finally up, and the judges are looking at all the entries from now till Dec 1. Doubt i'll win anything, and never even expected to be selected for judging. It's amazing some of the really cool photos that get put up here every year. Go check it out!

The photo is one i took of my big bro at grandpa's birthday party (one of the many many many parties he's had). Hahaha... miss the chubby goat. Realise a great deal of why i hang out with DSoon is cos he reminds me of my bro (or did i already mention that? eee like gay like that...pish!). Big, noisy, likes to rub his fat beer belly stomach in front of people, pisses in public places, and struts like women owe him. hahahaha... what a dawg.

Working in the masters room alone sucks. But at least it's working. Pun intended. Wa lau eh i'm becoming a nerd even my jokes are nerdy!! ARGH.

The service at the prata shop is damn slow... The server must be down hur hur hur. Wa lau eh!

one last hurrah...

Today was the last time I will see all my "kiddies" for DE5. They're quite a funny bunch lah... ah, ya lah then talk about sociological perspective all blur, but talk about sex, incest and blog-bitching and suddenly all pay attention and laugh. Hahaha! It's a pity that it takes so long to get to know their personalities.. just when your mind begins forming a coherent perception of their identity, start remembering names, it's all over. Well, it was swell facilitating you girls and 3 guys.

This will be the last time I will be teaching just two classes for the semester, if all goes well. If i get the TA appointment, I will be teaching 6-7 classes and maybe more than one module. I wonder if i will remember any of my students after that... well, cross my fingers from here on end!

... on another note, please for God's sake, there's no such thing as IRREGARDLESS. it's regardLESS, which means without regard (to something). If regardless means that, then irregardless means with regards to? Or REALLY REALLY regardless?? SHeeesh. COCK!

PLUS: Wayne and Jo! What happened to those two fun people I used to know??? Hahaha... missin ya.
