A Malay Wedding
It was quite an experience. I've not been to a malay wedding before, although i've seen many under void decks in my estate and all over Singapore. It was an interesting set-up, especially the eating. It's a good thing I'm used to eating with my hands (although they provided utensils) having a Peranakan mum. Washing my hands at the table via tea pot (some guy comes up to you with a plastic tea pot with water and pours it onto your hand - water drains to a separate recepticle placed below your hand) was definitely an experience. The bryani was guuuuuud. Think it was best service i've ever had, restaurants included. Apart from two of the caterer's helpers, the bride and groom's family helped out with too! Nothing beats "relative" hospitality.

It was quite interesting to see Bryan Turner snapping away furiously with his camera and musing about the cultural specificities of a typical malay wedding... at first I thought it was quite funny, a typical white man taking photos like a tourist. But then i realised... dammit, i should have brought my camera, especially since my knowledge of the workings of such a wedding is limited. Oh well... we learn new things everyday.
