I printed this out and pasted it on our office door. I think it's quite apt: three tutors in one room, the bastions of this so-called production of knowledge. Unfortunately, knowledge is not the same as wisdom (cos then we'd have a much simpler job), but at least we can cast out the fabled demons of stupidity. Or at least, we all hope our work is not in vain.
I wonder if
Paul Heelas will be moderately impressed with my work. It would be great to learn from a brilliant scholar of religion, although the living expenses in Lancaster would undoubtedly kill me. I doubt i will be able to get funding for the first year either. *sigh. The perils of my chosen profession.
Stephanie has dibbs to sleep on my bedroom floor or the toilet seat for when she comes to visit.
The office is quiet nowadays. No students, no noise. Somethings you miss when they're not around. I will seriously regret saying that when Orientation camps start and idiots run past you in the corridors with faces painted, screaming in mandarin and
what-not. Bah!
