My dad should really stop going on and on about religion. He says the same things again and again to the point that i've given up saying "oh, it's the "religion is between you and your God" story again, or "here he goes on about how comparing the 4 gospels will show show that the bible stories place Jesus at different places at the same time", but I've given his stories numbers. Oh God NO, it's #9. I can even anticipate when #4 or #7 is coming up next by following the logical flow of the conversation.
Sure, he makes logical sense, but it's getting stale and boring. It seems like he must go through this entire process just to assure himself that what he's doing (ie going for mass) is justifiable to his "rational" sense.
Some things are just meant to be simple and not talked about, especially if you have found your own peace about your faith and belief. Why go around telling people your justification at the expence of theirs? Maybe that's the whole point... maybe he's not found his peace.
I just get so sick of hearing about it.
