Ma Wen Chang from Thailand (quoted in today's New Paper):
"Singapore is not an original team! The team is made up of foreigners. I want to be at the stadium for the final because I am proud to be Thai. I want an original Thai team to beat this team of foreign recruits. Maybe they should not all this ASEAN Football Championship. They should rename it as the World Cup because almost half the Singapore team came from other countries."
And what is the caption below his name? Ma Wen Chang, a Thai-

Hello???? Can we not see the hypocricy there?? How fucking convenient! Here are my peevs:
(1) What is "original"? Even the Thais historically are the result of the migration of different tribes from the north to the South. In this day and age how can
anyone argue for originality or PURITY for shit's sake?? anyway, what the heck are you doing in THAI land! Your family is not originally from there!
(2)Singapore team is made up of Singaporeans. So teachnically they are NOT foreigners. Maybe they really love Singapore, how the fuck do
you know?
(3)Your notions of purity are what the people in the Thai South fucking despise you for. They don't wanna be "Thai", they'd rather join Malaysia, because they feel the guys in Bangkok fucking neglect them and don't give a rats ass cos
you probably don't consider them "Original Thais". Fuckin Nazi.
(4) We never deny that Singaporean is a migrant nation. We were never meant to be a Nation, just a place for business and entrepot trade. Independence was thrust upon us in 1965. Suddenly, people were citizens of this island. So what do you expect?
Although admittedly, we bring this upon ourselves by embracing it a little too enthusiastically where it comes to sports, and us Singaporeans tend to bitch about our own "foreign talent" players (but support them when they're doing well).
